The game
World of NoScience is a single-player fantasy RPG that pokes fun at pseudoscience: flat earths, tinfoil hats, miracle cures and a bureaucracy of very official "facts". Belief is power here. The more firmly something is believed, the more real it becomes, and the Bureau of Inconvenient Facts, under the stern eye of Sir Isaac Newton't, would very much like everyone to stop.
You choose one hero, walk out of the Village of Common Nonsense alone, and build a party as you go.
Explore one seamless continent
The world is a single 8 km continent split into twelve regions, streamed as you travel, with no loading screens between them. Wander off the road and you'll find towns, ruins, camps and a few things that should not exist, like:
- the Village of Common Nonsense
- Doubtful Meadow
- the Copperclad Highlands
- Ohmsbury
- Mirewhistle
- Grimehold
- Horizon's Lie Lookout
Tactics without the dice
Fights happen in the open world, right where you meet the enemy, with no cut to a separate arena. Combat is turn-based and tactical, and there is no dice roll anywhere. If an attack is legal, it hits. Damage follows fixed rules, and the preview shows you exactly what will happen before you commit. Position, terrain and timing decide the fight, not luck.
Eight heroes, one party
Pick any of eight heroes as your protagonist. The other seven are out in the world, each waiting somewhere with a task of their own, and every one of them can be recruited. Each hero has their own specialisations, talents and personal quest.

Systems worth believing in
- Conviction: every hero carries a personal reserve of unshakeable certainty, and spends it in battle.
- The Delusion Meter: a party-wide gauge from 0 to 100 that rises and falls with what your band of believers gets up to.
- Gear and loot: weapons, armour and trinkets for every hero, managed on a full paper-doll screen with a live character preview.
- Grow your party: shared experience, attributes, specialisations and talent tiers for every hero.
- Quests and approval: each companion has a personal questline and an opinion of you that changes over time.
